The microsoft 365 Development

It was with great pleasure that we read yesterday the announcement of Microsoft for the creation of a cloud Datacenter in Greece in the framework of the "GR for Growth" initiative. CGSoft, Microsoft Silver & Gold Certified Partner for more than fifteen years, already offers almost all of its applications in Microsoft Azure cloud and there are many of our partners, who already use them in smaller and / or very large installations, with the most recent example being that of the EIB (National Bank of Greece) for all the applications of the integrated portfolio management suite Thesis Property Suite with Microsoft Consulting firm.

What should we expect - and wait - in practice from this investment, apart from the immediate inflow of some -sufficient- millions of euros and the hiring of dozens of new employees? In Greece, we are used to saying " tools make the carpenter ". And Microsoft's "GR for Growth" initiative is an important step for the country, as it offers citizens and businesses the expertise and multitude needed in our digital age, new technological tools to innovate and prosper. In the following paragraph, for your convenience and to serve any business planning, we have tried to codify the key benefits we expect, or rather, we have reasonable hopes to expect in the coming years:

Higher speeds in CGSoft applications, as well as access to and processing of big data, thus ensuring access to "low-latency" business-level cloud services.

Access to innovation and technological developments with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, the exploitation of which is already aimed at the Research and Development department of CGSoft.

Strengthening and developing the available scientific potential in the IT sector (IT engineers, programmers, etc.), necessary for a wider digital transformation of companies. In fact, we estimate that this will be the biggest and most important benefit in the long run, as it is the necessary condition for the achievement of all the rest.

Reducing bureaucracy , through the long-awaited acceleration of digital transformation in the public sector, while maintaining the projected levels of cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, and finally,

Development of the local economy and new investment opportunities , both for Greek and for foreign companies that will transfer their data to Greece, as the latter will be able to function as a hub of technological innovation for the wider region (Balkans and Eastern Europe).

Will we be able to do all this? And how soon? Fortunately or unfortunately, the answer depends on the will and effort of all of us. In any case, it is absolutely certain that this initiative can benefit multiple companies and organizations of all sizes operating in the country, if they take advantage of the capabilities of the cloud.
